ôFull Houseö star Jodie Sweetin defended the drag queen Last Supper parody at the Paris Olympics after her fellow costar Candace Cameron Bure slammed it as ôdisgusting.ö

During the opening ceremony at the 2024 Summer Olympics, a scene modeled
after The Last Supper opened with an obese woman wearing an aureole as Jesus surrounded by drag queens as the Apostles, a decapitated head representing Marie Antoinette of the French Revolution, and drag queens dancing around children.

ôTell me you donÆt know about art or history,ö Sweetin wrote in a July 29 Instagram Story per E! News, ôwithout TELLING me you donÆt know about art or history.ö

Her post also included a video that started circulating online after
Christians blasted the offensive scene, claiming that it wasnÆt religious but inspired by the ancient Greek God Dionysus, who represents ôfeasting,
    festivity and ritual theater.ö

SweetinÆs post comes one day after ôFuller Houseö star Candace Cameron Bure took to Instagram to blast the anti-Christian scene, as previously reported.

ôI love the Olympic Games,ö Bure said, mentioning that her husband Valeri
Bure, a retired professional hockey player, and several other family members, were Olympic competitors.

ôThe Olympic Games have always brought me so much joy. ItÆs the best of the best athletes in the world competing for the title,ö she added.

ôSo to watch such an incredible and wonderful event thatÆs gonna take place over the next two weeks and see the opening ceremonies completely blaspheme
and mock the Christian faith with their interpretation of the Last Supper was disgusting,ö Bure continued. ôAnd it made me so sad. And someone said, æYou shouldnÆt be sad. You should be mad about it.Æ And IÆm like, æTrust me. It makes me mad.Æ But IÆm more sad, because IÆm sad for souls.ö

She also mentioned in her post that some followers claimed the opening ceremonies were not mocking Da VinciÆs famous ôLast Supperö painting, but
said sheÆs ônot buying itö and she doesnÆt ôsee how [Dionysus] relates to unifying the world through competitive sports and [is] acceptable for
    children to watch.ö

The Paris Olympics admitted on Saturday the blasphemous scene was inspired by da VinciÆs famous mural, then tried to walk it back on Monday, the New York Post reported.

Following the backlash against the Olympics, Anne Descamps, a spokesperson
for the Paris Olympics, said at a press conference, ôIf people have taken any offense we are really sorry.ö

ôClearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group. (The opening ceremony) tried to celebrate community tolerance,ö
Descamps told reporters, via Reuters. ôWe believe this ambition was
    achieved.ö
